      Hi
I did Chemistry Biology and Maths. They were all pretty useful at University. However, these days so long as you do a couple of science A levels you should be ok applying for most science courses. We regularly have students who’ve done, for example, Chemistry, Biology and History join our Pharmacology course and they usually do fine. In fact, the extra essay writing practice you get by doing a non-science A level often helps them when they get into year 2 of our course – in years 2 and 3 we have essay based exams.

      Hey!

Like Richard I did Chemistry, Biology and Maths! But if you are interested in a specific university course then check which ones you need. Almost all universities tell you what A-levels you need to join a course in their prospectus’ so you can plan before you choose.

      Thanks for your question!

      Dear 322prmc37,

I studied the following A-Levels at 6th form: Biology, Chemistry, Information Technology and Electronics. AS-Level in Psychology. All of these A-Levels have proved to be very useful in my scientific profession, and were definitely the subjects I needed to become a scientist.

      Best Wishes,

      Vedia
