• Question: One of you (Vedia, Richard or Laura) mentioned Nuffield bursaries which I know about but they only have 2 for each college (mine has about 500 science students!!!!) you also mentioned another link/place I could look at but I didnt write it down. Can you let me know what it was again. Thanks Sandra

      Hi Sandra,
I think that Laura and I have both talked about Nuffield bursaries. The other site that might be worth looking at is http://www.thebigchoice.com/Placements
It’s also worth trying to find companies in your area that might be able to offer you experience. Remind us where your school is and we might be able to suggest places to write to. Local unis can also offer work experience in non-research contexts that might be useful e.g. in the teaching labs and hospitals can also offer lab work placements.
      Best wishes

      Hi 773prmc32,

Richard has beaten me to the answer 🙂

However, there are more placement opportunities out there! 🙂 Check out the following link by Society of Biology: https://www.societyofbiology.org/careers-and-cpd/careers/industrial-summer-placements

      Hey sorry for the delay!

There’s also http://in2scienceuk.org/ which you might be eligible for.

Or you can just try and get a teacher or parent to contact a university, lots of scientists will be happy to show you around for a few days if you ask! At least at Bath we do this quite a lot.

      Best wishes,
      Laura
