      Hey 633prmc34!

As I mentioned in my profile, my grandmother. She now has Osteoarthritis (OA) in every single joint in her body, and growing up I saw doctors prescribe her drugs that would target ‘ general arthritis’ and not OA, and these drugs were designed to treat the current symptoms, not to prevent OA or even the arthritis. Obviously it is not feasible to replace all her joints, so, I was always thinking of ways to try and prevent this disease. When I started studying in University, I came across an academic that was doing research into Osteoarthritis, and looking into the effects of novel (new) drugs. So, I joined the research team, and gained a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in OA progression. Hence, I am now looking at and analysing the preventative measures.

Hope that answers your question 🙂

      Best Wishes,

      Vedia
