Clinical Pharmacology is the study of the action of drugs in humans. It is an exciting medical and scientific discipline focused on ensuring the safe, effective and cost-effective use of medicines through clinical and regulatory practice, education and research.
As a Clinical Pharmacologist, I study how drugs are taken up, broken down and removed from the body through clinical trials in healthy subjects and patients to make sure that drugs are taken safely and used effectively to treat diseases such as cancer.
Clinical pharmacologists in the pharmaceutical industry are involved in the development of new drugs and early clinical trials in healthy subjects and patients.
