      Very good question 🙂

      I think I have definitely illustrated my determination (I never give up, even when I don’t achieve the result I expect, I repeat my experiments until I achieve the expected outcome by troubleshooting every possibility) and ambition (I like to take on challenges and think outside the box because I want to accomplish my goals; to test new ways (techniques) to gain optimised results) to my supervisors and to the colleagues I have worked with. As a PhD student surely that classifies me as a Scientist 🙂 However, I do believe that a degree should not class the person as a scientist; it is what they do that should class them as a scientist. I enjoy conducting research in the laboratory and I plan to have a future in a research laboratory, that is why I describe myself as a Scientist.
